Jefferson Avenue Music & Worship Ministry

The music program is founded in the Word of God. To be effective, it must be properly balanced with emphasis on "psalm and hymns and spiritual songs" (Ephesians 5:19). The goals of such a program is to utilize the medium of music to communicate the Gospel, to lead in worship, and to enlist others called to the ministry of music.

We here at Jefferson Avenue Church of God place great emphasis on the ministry of music. We give careful consideration to our music for we believe that it prepares the atmosphere for the move of the Holy Spirit. The songs used are scripturally accurate, full of faith, and anointed. Our music program consists of a graded choir system, instrumental music, praise teams along with special singing from those involved in the ministry and musicals. The department consists of;

•The Sanctuary Choir The Sanctuary Choir (ages 18 and older)

    -Ministering in both Sunday worship services.
    -Rehearsing on Sunday afternoons at 4:30 PM before the evening service.
    -We also rehearse one Thursday night a month from 6:30 - 8:00 PM                   

            (Choir Camp)

•The Psalmists (Praise Team)
    -Leading in Praise and Worship every service.
    -Rehearsing Wednesday evenings.
•The Ministry of Special Music (raised up from the adult choir)
•The Children's Choir (grades 1-6, Wednesday night)
    -Ministering once a quarter at a Sunday worship service.
    -Rehearsing every Wednesday as part of Family Training.
•Cherub Choir (from our pre-school department)
    -Ministering during special services throughout the year.
•Instrumental Music
    -Ministering during every service.
•Easter Drama (LifeGiver)
